Product Positioning and Technological Inheritance

The VF702 (S1) Control Bus Interface Card, introduced by Yokogawa Electric, is a communication interface device that connects computers to the V-net control network. This device enables the computer to become a complete node within the core network. The VF702 S1 interface card is primarily used in Yokogawa's CENTUM series Distributed Control Systems (DCS). It fully replaces the previous VF701 model, and both products can coexist on the same V-net control bus. The domain and station number settings for the VF702 S1 remain consistent with those of the VF701.

Product Highlights

VF702 1

Bus Interface Innovation

The VF702 S1 adopts the advanced PCI Express bus standard, offering significantly higher data transfer bandwidth compared to traditional PCI interface cards (such as the VF701).

Dual Redundancy

The VF702 card is equipped with two independent communication channels (BUS 1 and BUS 2). Each channel features its own BNC connector, along with RCV (Receive) and SND (Send) indicator lights.

Network Connectivity

The VF702 S1 uses standard BNC connectors and 10BASE-2 coaxial cables (thin cables) for network connectivity. It connects to the bus network through a dedicated YCB146 T-type connector.

Installation Limitations

The VF702 card cannot be installed in traditional PCI slots and must be used with a PCI Express x1 interface. Users should ensure that their computer motherboard has the appropriate slot when upgrading or setting up a new system.
