EPRO PR6426/010-140+CON011 32mm Eddy Current Sensor+Eddy Current Signal Converter

Advantages of EPRO

Execution due to minimal prep time, portable equipment, and high area coverage, resulting in minimal asset downtime.

Doesn’t require direct contact with the test piece. Inspection probes can be mounted to drones to work at heights. Directly control the depth of eddy current penetration for inspecting different material thicknesses. Immediate, accurate results and visual reporting on asset condition, allowing fast follow-up action. Environmentally friendly. Doesn’t use chemical penetrants or gamma rays, which can harm workers.

Features of EPRO

Dual-channel monitoring

EPRO MMS6220 has two independent monitoring channels, each of which can be connected to an eddy current sensor or other vibration sensor, and can simultaneously collect eccentricity signals at two locations.

Multiple signal processing

EPRO MMS6220 can perform peak-to-peak, minimum/maximum signal evaluation, provide data support for the construction of turbine protection systems, and provide signals for analysis and diagnostic systems for further processing in fieldbus systems, hosts and networks.

Multiple interfaces

EPRO MMS6220 has an RS232 interface for configuration and reading measurement results, and an RS485 interface for connecting to EPRO's MMS6850 analysis system or host, which facilitates communication with other devices.

Application of EPRO

Surface inspection

Eddy current testing is widely used in the aerospace and petrochemical industries to detect cracks and defects on the surface of materials.

Tubing inspections

This method is used to inspect tubing for flaws, variations in size, or material variations.

Flaw detection

Eddy current testing is sensitive and can detect even tight cracks, making it valuable for identifying defects in various components.

Coating thickness measurement

Eddy current sensors are used to determine the thickness of coatings on various materials, according to a study on the epro con021/913-040 eddy current signal converter.

Eddy current brakes

These brakes use eddy currents to create a braking force, explained by tdk corporation. They are used in heavy-duty vehicles, trains, roller coasters, and even some powered tools.

Components of EPRO

Sensor drive electronics: This circuitry is responsible for energizing the sensor coil with the appropriate frequency and amplitude, and for processing the weak signals it generates from the eddy currents induced in the conductive object.

Sensor coil: This is the primary component that generates the electromagnetic field. It's a coil of wire that, when energized with alternating current, creates a magnetic field.

Signal processing block: This component further refines the signals from the sensor drive electronics, often using a circuit or microprocessor algorithm to convert them into a usable output. This output can be a standard voltage, current, or digital signal, depending on the specific application.

FAQ

Q: What are the applications of eddy currents?

A: Eddy currents are widely used in structural identification and testing of metallic structures. It's used to test the structural components of aircraft heat exchange tubes. Inspection – It helps in the inspection of coating layers in metals and products.

Q: What are two advantages of eddy current?

A: They are useful in finding out the defects, sensitivity to surface defects. They are quite useful in finding out the needy through several layers.

Q: Are eddy currents good or bad?

A: The electromagnetic forces can be used for levitation, creating movement, or to give a strong braking effect. Eddy currents can also have undesirable effects, for instance power loss in transformers.

Q: What is the difference between eddy current and electric current?

A: Eddy currents (also known as Foucault's currents) are loops of electrical current induced within conductors by a changing magnetic field in the conductor, according to Faraday's law of induction. Eddy currents flow in closed loops in planes perpendicular to the magnetic field within conductors.

Q: How to eliminate eddy current?

A: By replacing the solid metallic coil with a laminated core (consisting of large number of thin metal sheets insulated from each other), we can minimize the eddy current in the transformer.

Q: What are the components of eddy current brake?

A: A disk eddy current brake consists of a conductive non-ferromagnetic metal disc (rotor) attached to the axle of the vehicle's wheel, with an electromagnet located with its poles on each side of the disk, so the magnetic field passes through the disk. The electromagnet allows the braking force to be varied.
