Overview
GE IC693APU300 High Speed Counter Module is a single slot module for the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) that directly processes fast pulse signals up to 80 kHz.
It senses inputs, processes count information, and controls outputs without communicating with the CPU. The module uses 16 words of input memory (16 bits of discrete input memory % I and 15 words of analog input memory % AI, which are updated every CPU scan) and 16 bits of discrete output memory % Q (transmitted every scan), and is configurable through the Series 90-30 Handheld Programmer or the Logicmaster 90-30 Programming Software Configurator.

- Signal processing and control: IC693APU300 does not need to communicate with the CPU, directly senses input, processes counts and controls outputs. It can be configured to count up, count down, count bidirectionally or calculate the difference between two changing values. It can also provide 1, 2 or 4 counters of different complexity.
- Input and output configuration: IC693APU300 has 12 positive logic (source) inputs, with a selectable input voltage range of 5 VDC or 10 - 30 VDC; 4 positive logic (source) outputs, the inputs can be used as counting signals, direction, disable, edge-triggered strobe and preload input (depending on the type of counter selected by the user), and the outputs can drive indicator lights, solenoid valves, relays and other devices.
- Counting and configuration: The Counts per Timebase register of each counter shows the number of counts in a given time interval. The data is a 16-bit signed number (the sign indicates up/down counting), and the timebase value range is 1-65535 milliseconds.
