Ground loop interference remains a common trouble source for TSI vibration monitoring systems on steam turbines, gas turbines and centrifugal compressors. Unequal ground potential between sensor field location and control cabinet creates unwanted offset and noise, which distorts vibration signal readings and affects machinery protection logic. The GSI122 244-122-000-204 Galvanic Separation Unit from Vibro-Meter (Meggitt) addresses this issue in 2-wire transducer signal chains.
GSI122 244-122-000-204 Galvanic Separation Unit delivers power supply to vibration transducers and signal conditioners, while establishing galvanic isolation between the field sensor side and monitoring system side. It converts the transducer current consumption into proportional voltage output for data acquisition. This module works within 2-wire transmission architecture widely adopted by Vibro-Meter vibration monitoring hardware.
