overview：
GE IS220PPRAH1A is an emergency turbine backup protection I/O module designed and manufactured by General Electric. It belongs to the Mark VIe series and is used in GE distributed turbine control systems. It works with the TREA terminal board and WREA option board to form an independent overspeed protection system and watchdog function. There are versions that meet IEC 61508 certification, such as PPRAS1A and TREAS1A and WREAS1A, which have different network connection methods in systems with different controller numbers.
Fuctions & Features:
- Independent overspeed protection: The GE IS220PPRAH1A and its associated TREA terminal board form an independent overspeed protection system. It monitors and analyzes the input speed signal. When it detects that the turbine speed exceeds the set safety threshold, it can quickly trigger the protection mechanism, such as controlling the relevant valve to close, to prevent the turbine from causing failure or safety accidents due to overspeed.
- Watchdog function: The GE IS220PPRAH1A provides an independent watchdog function for the main control, continuously monitoring the operating status of the main control system. If the main control system has an abnormality or failure, such as loss of control signal, abnormal program operation, etc., it will detect it in time and take corresponding measures.
- Isolation trip input: The GE IS220PPRAH1A processes the isolation trip contact input. When receiving a trip signal from other systems or equipment, it will judge and process it according to the preset logic and conditions.
