GE IC693BEM331 Genius Bus Controller
Overview
IC693BEM331 is a Genius Bus Controller (GBC) for GE Series 90-30 PLCs. It serves as the communication interface between the PLC and the Genius I/O serial bus. The bus controller can serve a variety of devices: Genius modules, providing interfaces for a variety of discrete, analog and special-purpose field devices. The controller can also manage up to 31 Genius devices, each supporting 128 bytes of input/output data, and can connect Genius I/O modules, remote substations, Field Control stations and multi-host systems.
🚀Function & Features
Genius blocks, which provide an interface to a wide range of discrete, analog, and special-purpose field devices. Note that the GCM and GCM+ modules, described earlier, cannotcontrol Genius blocks.
Remote Drops, which consist of Series 90-70 I/O racks interfaced to the bus through Remote
I/O Scanner modules. Each of these drops can have any mix of Series 90-70 discrete and analog I/O modules, providing up to 128 bytes of input data and 128 bytes of output data.
Field Control I/O Station, which consists of a Bus Interface Unit (BIU) and up to eightadditional Field Control modules. The BIU provides intelligent processing, IO scanning, and feature configuration for the I/O station.
Provides high-speed bus transmission rate of 153.6kbps, meeting real-time data scanning requirements for industrial I/O signals
Allows connection of up to 32 network nodes on a single Genius bus, supporting large-scale remote I/O network expansion
