The 1756-L81ES is a GuardLogix-XT 5580 controller under the Allen-Bradley brand of Rockwell Automation. The controller is functionally identical to the standard GuardLogix 5580 controller. The key difference lies in the conformal coating applied to the circuit boards. When paired with a safety partner module from the same series, the system can be upgraded from SIL 2 to SIL 3. Support is provided for Studio 5000 Logix Designer version V37.00.00 and above.
