Schneider 490NRP95400 is a fiber optic repeater for RIO networks. This repeater introduces a fiber optic link into a coaxial cable topology, converting signals between the coaxial cable and the fiber optic cable, thereby extending the network distance.
Note:
1.The specified topology must be adhered to. Illegal topologies may cause network malfunction.
2.Before installing or replacing a repeater, the RIO network must be powered off.
3.Do not use magnifying equipment to observe the fiber endface while a signal is transmitting, as this may cause serious eye damage. Use only white light for inspection.
Function & Features：
- The 490NRP95400 supports specific RIO network topologies, including point-to-point, bus, tree, or self-healing ring. Up to five repeaters can be deployed in a bus or ring topology.
- The 490NRP95400 converts signals between coaxial and fiber optic cables, resolving connectivity issues between different transmission media. The transmission distance between two repeaters is limited by fiber optic cable attenuation and jitter. In a self-healing ring, the maximum fiber length can reach 10 kilometers.
- The chassis must be grounded. The 490NRP95400 uses settings on the RIO cable shield and jumper switches to clearly define its connection to the chassis ground.
- Optical Signal Regeneration and Amplification : The Schneider 490NRP95400 Fiber Optic Repeater receives weak optical signals transmitted through long-distance multimode fiber cables. It amplifies faded signal power and reshapes distorted waveforms, outputting standard and stable optical signals for subsequent network transmission.
