Overview
The Foxboro FBM237 is an 8-channel, 0 to 20 mA analog output interface module for the Foxboro I/A Series control system. This module converts digital commands from the control system into high-precision current signals, which can drive valve positioners, actuators, or recorders. The module can function as a single unit or as a redundant pair (two FBM237 modules). When used as a redundant pair, field output signals connect to a common terminal assembly, and each module in the redundant pair can independently maintain the output at the specified value.
🚀Function & Features
- Drive and Diode "OR" Logic Output: In a redundant configuration, the microprocessors of the master and standby Foxboro FBM237 modules calculate and output identical current values each cycle. Output signals are combined through diode "OR" logic on the redundancy adapter.
- Automatic Fault Zeroing: When any FBM237 module detects a fault, such as microprocessor self-test failure or communication loss, the faulty module's output is automatically forced to zero, transferring channel control to the functioning module.
- Support for Output Bypass Station: When used with specific terminal assemblies (TA), field maintenance personnel can manually force output current using a handheld device during module removal for maintenance, keeping valve positions unchanged.
