Emerson KJ3221X1-BA1 is an advanced analog output (AO) device with 4-20 mA HART communication function and 8 channels. Its core function is to convert the analog signal of the sensor to a 4-20 mA output signal and connect it to the control system, while supporting the HART communication protocol. In addition, it also introduces the precautions for installation and removal of the device, such as operating restrictions under power, power-off requirements for non-sparking field circuits, "nL" evaluation during installation, and rotary keying system and terminal block settings after installation.

- Analog signal conversion: The core work of the Emerson KJ3221X1-BA1 module is to process the analog signal from the sensor and convert it into a standard 4-20mA output signal.
- Communication: The Emerson KJ3221X1-BA1 module supports the HART communication protocol, which enables it to communicate digital data while transmitting 4-20mA analog signals. HART communication uses frequency shift keying (FSK) technology to superimpose a frequency signal on the 4-20mA analog signal to achieve the transmission of digital information.
- Clear safety operation requirements: The Emerson KJ3221X1-BA1 module specifies the operating restrictions of the equipment when it is powered, emphasizing that non-sparking field circuits must be de-energized before removal and insertion, and that I/O loop assessments must be performed on all energy-limited nodes during "nL" installations.
