ABB NTAI02 Termination Unit plays a vital role in a specific system. It is able to connect with one or two thermocouple slave modules (IMASM02) via separate cables. In addition, it can receive 16 thermocouple or millivolt signals from field devices and send them to the slave modules. These signals are then passed to the analog master module (IMAMM03). In addition, up to four NTAI02s can be interconnected, which allows the IMAMM03 to monitor the local cold junction reference signal and distribute the internal calibration voltage to eight IMASM02s.
Fuctions & Features:
- Thermocouple Signal Processing: The NTAI02 is able to connect to one or two thermocouple slave modules (IMASM02), enabling it to receive and process up to 16 thermocouple or millivolt signals from field devices. These signals are transmitted from the NTAI02 to the slave modules, which then pass the information to the analog master module (IMAMM03) for further processing.
- Interconnecting with Multiple Units: Up to four NTAI02 units can be interconnected, enabling the IMAMM03 to: Monitor the local cold junction reference signal (important for accurate thermocouple readings). Distribute the internal calibration voltage to up to eight IMASM02 modules.
- Field Inputs and Terminations: The NTAI02 handles the field input wiring and provides terminations for connected thermocouple or millivolt input signals. It includes a cold junction reference RTD for accurate measurement of thermocouple temperature, and terminal blocks for connecting field wiring.
