ABB TU830V1 3BSE013234R1 is a passive expansion module terminal unit (MTU). It connects field wiring to ABB's AC 800M and other high-range I/O modules and also includes part of the ModuleBus. The ABB TU830V1 has up to 16 I/O channels and two process voltage connections, which can be connected to two independent, isolated groups, each with a 6.3A fuse.

 

The maximum rated voltage is 50V, and the maximum rated current per channel is 2A. The MTU is responsible for distributing the ModuleBus to the I/O module and the next MTU, and generates the correct address for the I/O module by shifting the output position signal.

  • Process Power Distribution: The ABB TU830V1 (3BSE013234R1) provides two independent process power inputs (up to 50V DC, 2A maximum per channel) to power field devices such as transmitters and solenoid valves.

 

  • Equipotential Bonding: Each signal channel provides a ZP (reference potential/shield) connection point for connecting the cable shield or signal common.

 

  • Automatic address generation: ABB TU830V1 (3BSE013234R1) MTU has an address shifting function. It receives the position signal from the controller and generates the correct physical address for its connected I/O modules.
